This in-depth two - day in person training offers you a wealth of practical tools and strategies to effectively target and treat not only depression and dysthymia, but the full range of anxiety disorders from OCD to panic disorder. The training runs from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Meet Dr. Russ Harris
Physician & Psychotherapist
Russ Harris is an internationally-renowned ACT trainer, and author of the world’s best-selling book on the topic, The Happiness Trap. As a physician, Russ became increasingly interested in the psychological aspects of health and wellbeing, which ultimately led him to change careers and become a therapist.
In the last two decades, Russ has trained over 90,000 health professionals in ACT. He has authored four textbooks (including ACT Made Simple and Trauma Focused ACT) and six self-help books (including The Reality Slap and ACT with Love).
In 2015, Russ created an ACT protocol for the World Health Organization, for use in refugee camps. The WHO have published three studies based on this protocol, showing that it not only reduces depression and PTSD, but also prevents the onset of mental health disorders in those at high risk.

Q: Is this training for new or seasoned professionals?
Answer: This training is designed for helping professionals. Those newer and well versed in ACT will benefit. It is helpful to have some familiarity with ACT concepts. Russ Harris has many resources available for you to learn about ACT. In order to access his book The Happiness Trap click here.
Q: Can I attend one day?
Answer: This comprehensive training is two days in length as the second day builds on the first. No single day attendance is available.
Q: Is lunch included?
Answer: No, lunch is not included. We will provide coffee, tea, water and fruit for morning and afternoon breaks. The lunch will be approximately one hour. You are welcome to bring your lunch and there may be food kiosks open in MRU.
Q: Will you provide certificates of attendance?
Answer: Yes, they will be emailed to you after the training.
